A message from Jason
Family Day Care has always held a unique and powerful place within Australia’s early education and care system.
- It is resilient
- It is relationship-based
- It is highly valued by families and children
And it often operates quietly — without the visibility or recognition it deserves.
Over many years working across the sector — in leadership, governance and advocacy — I have seen firsthand both the strength of Family Day Care services and the pressure they carry.
I have represented and advocated to government through a number of advisory committees, contributing to policy discussions that shape our sector. I have also served as an Approved Provider for one of Australia’s largest non-government Family Day Care and In-Home Care services, with direct responsibility for compliance, workforce, finance and strategic sustainability.
These experiences have given me a deep appreciation of the complexity services navigate every day.
- Compliance expectations continue to evolve
- Financial margins are tight
- Workforce dynamics shift.
- Community needs change.
Too often, service leaders are working tirelessly in their business, with little space to work on it.
FDC Insights & Diagnostics was created to provide that space.
My focus is simple: bring clarity to complexity.
Through structured diagnostics, meaningful data interpretation and practical strategic insight, I help services understand what is really happening within their operations — financially, regulatorily and culturally.
- Not to criticise.
- Not to overwhelm.
- But to make informed decisions clearer and more confident.
Family Day Care matters deeply — particularly for regional, flexible and small-group care communities across Australia. It deserves sustainable systems and informed leadership.
If I can contribute to strengthening that foundation, then this work is worthwhile.
